Responsibility

Using a CLT structure and natural insulation puts this house on the forefront of sustainability. By using CLT construction we have a continuous layer of insulation with minimal thermal bridging. With few connections, there is great air tightness with almost zero air leakage. The high thermal mass keeps the temperature stable throughout the day, greatly reducing the need for heating or cooling.

Constructability

The walls, roof and floors are delivered to the site in panels that are quickly assembled in just a few weeks. Because the CLT structure is the gorgeous interior finish, no interior drywalling is needed. Finish work only includes fixtures and casework, making for a quick build schedule and quiet onsite assembly.

Health & Comfort

CLT provides exceptional levels of acoustic insulation for both airborne and impact sound transmission, making this an ideal option for sites struggling with acoustic comfort. Without any wall cavities, CLT structures eliminate chances for mold and with an all natural wood interior, there is no off-gassing of synthetic materials: clean fresh air.

Accessibility

Our design includes an accessible bathroom and bedroom on the first floor. The second-floor loft can be omitted if an entirely ADA accessible building is desired.

ADU’s are limited to 800 square feet - the CedarStone Home maximizes this space with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a lofted ceiling that provides a spacious feeling for a small home.

 

A larger 1000 sf version is also available (not an ADU) with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Contact us for more information.
