OUR DESIGN BUILD PHILOSOPHY

We want to be good
ancestors.

We build with a clear sense of responsibility for what comes next. Our goal is to create work that the people we build for—and the people we work with—can stand behind with pride.

We enjoy the process of building and believe our best work comes from bringing together diverse skills and perspectives. By working collaboratively across design, fabrication, and field installation, we focus on creating environments that are both ecologically responsible and meaningful to experience.

OUR FOUNDATION OF TRUST AND TIMBER

Our Mission and Values

At CedarStone, we believe the built environment shapes how people live, connect, and thrive. Our work is guided by a deep respect for people, place, and future generations.
We are committed to:

  • Craftsmanship rooted in care, precision, and pride in our work

  • Integrity in how we design, build, and collaborate

  • Human connection and compassion, recognizing housing as both shelter and lived experience

  • Responsibility to future generations, building in ways that honor long-term environmental and social impact

We take action toward a healthier future for all people by increasing access to high-quality housing.

LOGISTICS COORDINATOR.

Andrew Mettler

I have been in the construction industry for 18 years, originating in the electrical trade. I studied sustainability in the built environment with focus on renewable energy and energy management at LCC.  I worked in the solar industry for 5 years installing and maintaining solar arrays throughout Oregon. I also spent 7 years operating and maintaining hydro electric and geothermal systems for an off grid retreat center. I also have a passion for heavy equipment and moving large objects from location to location. I love being part of this team and bringing mass timber to the residential and affordable housing sector.

LEAD CARPENTER

Eric Blau

My interest in construction started with woodworking experiences in Boy Scouts and at summer camp.  Then in high school I volunteered with my youth group to help low income families with much needed renovations and repairs.  I rekindled my interests in a functional art class in college where I had the chance to design and build furniture.

After moving to Eugene in 2014 I started building prefabricated ADUs with a local company, where I gained experience framing, roofing, site prep, door and window installation, and building assembly.  While continuing to work on ADUs, I started my own business focusing on finish carpentry.  In 2024 I relocated to Portland and worked for a door and window installer in historic homes around the city.  When I moved back to Eugene at the end of 2024, I was fortunate to find an opportunity with Cedar Stone where I’ve had the chance to continue growing as a carpenter, work with cutting edge timber materials, and become a certified sustainable homes professional through EarthAdvantage.  I am very excited to be part of the next generation of green building.
