Townhomes

CedarStone's townhomes maximize the efficiency of mass timber construction. Designed for manufacturing using billet dimensions allows this design to boast an incredible cost of $275/square foot, turn-key. Not to mention the fast timeline and long term savings due to energy efficiency and an incredibly durable and low-maintenance building.

Size

Each unit is ~1,100 square feet; 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Plan includes a laundry room, double height area above kitchen, spiral stair, and second floor balcony. The design presumes building 4 or fewer which allows for a residential permit pathway in Oregon.

This design can be reconfigured for specific sites. For example, we have explored a third floor for ocean views on the coast. We have also explored larger developments and a redesign to meet commercial code requirements.

Awards

CedarStone’s mass timber homes have been awarded the prestigious Earth Advantage Platinum certification and Net Zero Energy Certifications. The Maheeshp was also awarded 2024 EA Market Rate Project of the Year , 2024 EA Community Engaged Design Award, and the 2024 EA Zero Energy Club setting a new standard in energy-efficient housing. The Estkwés Home was also selected to be featured in the International Mass Timber Conference where we were also selected to speak on a panel on the topic of modular mass timber construction. This townhouse design applies lessons learned from both the Maheeshp and Estkwes project for a budget conscious optimized mass timber panel project.

CedarStone Townhomes are a flat-pack design, constructed with mass timber walls, roof and floor.

Each panel is prefabricated in our shop and arrives on site with insulation, windows and doors pre-installed and ready to plug and play. Timeline depends on quantity of homes per project. For a frame of reference, our team builds single unit modular designs in 1 month, start to finish, prefab and install included.
