Q: Does CedarStone provide any warranty on their work?
A: Yes, we stand behind the work that we do and offer a structural and workmanship warranty on all of our projects. If you have any issues with your project, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Q: How much would it cost to build a custom CedarStone Home?
A: You can start your own rough budget estimate using the information on our pricing page. At each stage of design, we will update and refine the estimate so that you don't have any surprises.

Q: How much is the pre-approved ADU design?
A: The pre-approved ADU design could cost between $280k - $360k+ depending on fixtures, appliances, finishes, and other customizations. Depeding on your particular site, the foundation could be from $30k-$50k+ and site preparation varies site-to-site depending on your access to utilities. You can calculate this for all of our pre-designed options using the information on our pricing page.

Q: How much does it cost for design and engineering?
A: For a custom project, design and engineering typically represents around 18% of the construction cost. However, for our pre-approved ADU, these fees will be much lower and will only reflect the customizations and site planning necessary. For our other pre-designed options, some of the design work has already been complete, but engineering is still required, resulting in a slightly reduced price. At CedarStone, we are committed to providing you with a fair and transparent understanding of costs. Contact us to discuss your project and find out more about what's needed for your particular site and build.

Q: How much does permitting cost?
A: Permitting fees are a combination of SDC's (System Development Charges) and Review Fees for your proposed project. The location, size and number of plumbing fixtures will impact the fees. Review fees increase with larger projects. SDC's are determined by the amount of storm and waste water being added to the municipal system. This is calculated using the squarefootage of roof and paved areas and the numeber of plumbing fixtures of the project. It is common for permitting fees to be around $10k for an ADU in Eugene, Oregon. Our pre-approved ADU design will have almost no Review Fees if built within the City of Eugene.

Q: Does CedarStone charge an additional fee to obtain the building permit?
A: No. Getting your building permit is included in our design services.

Q: What work does CedarStone self-perform and what do they sub-contract?
A: The CedarStone team designs, installs and assembles the entire structure and building envelope and installs finishes, fixtures and appliances. We sub-contract the engineering, excavation, concrete work, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.

Q: How do I start? What's the first step?A: We recommend starting with a site planning report. This is not only the first step of our design process, but it also gives you a stand-alone document you can use for any future developments on your property. If you already have site planning completed, then contact us to dive into design! If you're still looking for land, we offer a land acquisition consultation to lend a design-build perspective to your site selection process.
